Dear JB Fans,
As some of you may remember, I trained for and completed
my first marathon, the 2000 Rock n’ Roll Marathon in San
Diego as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s
Team In Training (TNT) program. The TNT program offered
me an excellent way to raise money in memory of Jennie
Tucker, my mother-in-law, who died from non-Hodgkin’s
lymphoma in July 1996. Fundraising, training, and running
my first marathon were life-changing experiences.
Please join me in my next
adventure…the 2004 Columbia Triathlon (Ellicott City,
Maryland), May 23, 2004. I will be:
 
swimming .9mile
biking 24.8 miles running 6.2
miles

I will handle the training but I need your help to reach
my personal fund raising goal of $3,000 (the minimum for
the program is $2,000). Your tax-deductible contribution
to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will go directly to
patient aid, research and treatment for leukemia and
related cancers.
Enclosed is an information sheet that
explains the missions, goals, and strategies of the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as well as the TNT program.
In addition, I have enclosed a sponsorship form and a
self-addressed envelope for your donation. I would
appreciate it if you mailed your contribution to me by
May 1, 2004.
You are also invited to come and join
Eric and Connor (our son, born July, 20, 2003) as part of
my support crew on race day since the race will take place
in Maryland. See if I can get away with swimming with
water wings or a life jacketJ

The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT)
program is the world’s largest endurance sports training
program. TNT provides coaching for marathons, triathlons,
in-line skating, and century bike rides.

exchange for training and support, participants raise
money towards finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma and other blood related
cancers.
