CUP SERIES 2003 SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
October race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway switched to prime
time.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 19, 2002) - National Association
for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) officials announced
Monday the 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule, a lineup
of 36 series championship events that will begin Feb. 16
with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
The season - which will end Nov. 16 at Homestead-Miami
Speedway - has no changes from 2002 in terms of the number
of races on the schedule or the sites. But there is one
significant alteration: The annual fall event at Lowe’s
Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., has been switched to a
Saturday night (Oct. 11).
The NASCAR Winston Cup Series again visits 23 tracks, in a
total of 19 states.
