Keyser's Port City Racing 125 up Next for the CRA Super
Series at Berlin Raceway
Salem, IN (May 4, 2010) - The CRA Super Series next
event will be this Saturday's Keyser's Port City
Racing 125 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.
Saturday's event will be the tenth series event at the
famed .438-mile oval. 10-time Berlin Raceway Champion
Fred Campbell is the all-time CRA Super Series winner at
Berlin with three victories. His son Brian Campbell is
second with two victories, including last seasons Rowdy
Busch 125. Other CRA winners at Berlin include Scott
Hantz, former Berlin Champions Ross Meeuwsen and Tom
Thomas, who won last year's series event held in October
after it was rained out in August. Tim Curry also has a
series win at Berlin.
Saturday's race will be a chance for teams to get laps
prior to the Tuesday, June 15th Rowdy's Revenge 251
presented by Keyser's Port City Racing at Berlin. That
huge event will be sanctioned by the CRA Super Series
and could pay the winner $25,000. NASCAR Superstar Kyle
Busch will be competing in that event trying to better
his fifth place finish in last years Rowdy Busch 125.
NASCAR competitor Johnny Benson Jr. will return
to his former home track to compete in Saturday's race,
driving the Kyle Busch Motorsports entry to help get the
car dialed in for Busch's June 15th return. Benson Jr.
finished fifth in this past Sunday's NASCAR Camping
World Truck Series event. This will be his first ever
start in a CRA Super Series event. Complete
Story 16-year-old Ross Kenseth, the son of NASCAR
competitor Matt Kenseth, will also make his CRA debut in
Saturday's event. Kenseth stormed on to the late model
seen last year claiming the Big Eight Series
Championship and qualified on the outside pole of
the Snowball Derby were he got a 12th place finish.
Kenseth will be racing full-time in the ASA Midwest
Series in 2010, with selected starts with the CRA Super
Series.
2009 CRA Super Series Champion John VanDoorn returns to
his home track seeking his first series victory at
Berlin. The Coopersville, Michigan native has ran well
at the series events at Berlin in the past but has been
unable to get a win, that is something he will be out to
change on Saturday. The Kaos Motorsports team started
out the 2010 CRA season with a victory at Anderson
Speedway and comes in as the series point's leader in
their quest for a second straight series Championship.
Other top CRA Super Series competitors entered for
Saturday's event includes Kenny Tweedy, Jason Dietsch,
Tommy St. John, Rick Turner, Jack Smith, Terry Fisher
Jr., Jason Shively, and Adam Purdy. There is also a
strong group of series rookies entered including
Michigan native John Long and Ohio's Nick Gullatta and
Colin Nickolai.
As usual this event has attracted a strong group of
local talent that has entered the event including
several former Berlin Track Champions. Brain Campbell
leads that list, but this season he is competing
full-time with the CRA Super Series trying to win the
Season Championship for Mike Bursley's Perfect Circle
Race Team. Other local racers entered include former
winner Ross Meeuwsen driving the Port City Racecars
entry, also Caleb Bisacky, Terry VanHaitsma, Alex Carl,
Chris Anthony, Chris Koslek, Keith Herp and Jordan
Dahlke as well as Jay Niewiek, Nick Bonstell and Justin
Ryan who will attempt to make their first starts with
the CRA Super Series.
15 year old Grand Rapid's native Kelsey Steele will make
her CRA Super Series debut Saturday driving the
legendary red #16 for her dad, three time ARCA Series
Champion Tim Steele. Kelsey Steele will be behind the
wheel of the car that Tom Thomas drove to victory lane
last October. Kelsey Steele was the 2009 BerlinYoung
Guns Champion and competed at New Smyrna Speedway during
Speedweeks in February.
Former ASA Touring Series great Robbie Pyle is entered
for Saturday's event. Pyle has one career series win
at Columbus Motor Speedway, but is always a threat to
win whenever he shows up to race. Pyle has raced
sparingly for the past several years as he grows his
company ImageFX. Pyle will be driving for former Chicago
area racer John Brolick on Saturday.
There will be an open practice on Friday, pits open
at 3pm, and practice will go from 5 to 9pm. Pits open on
Saturday at 12noon, practice will begin at 2pm with
qualifying at 6pm. The race program will begin
at 7pm and will include the Keyser's Port City Racing

from Berlin's Modifieds and 4 Cylinder divisions.
