Outlaw Invasion Less Than Two Weeks Away

Memphis, TN (July 11, 2005) – Batten down the hatches, lock up your doors, and get ready for some out of this world excitement as less than two weeks remain until the Stacker 2 World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models roar into the ¼ mile, dirt oval at the Memphis Motorsports Park on Friday, July 22 nd.

Twelve of the best Super Late Model competitors in the nation will roll into town to challenge other top national and local drivers. Leading the invasion of the nation’s best will be current point’s leader, Billy Moyer from Batesville, Arkansas. Moyer has been off to a torrid start to the 2005 season, but he has a formidable field of challengers hot on his heels. Other Dirty Dozen drivers, who will be in attendance include Scott Bloomquist (Tennessee), Darrell Lanigan (Kentucky), Dale McDowell (Georgia), Tim McCreadie (New York), Chub Frank (Pennsylvania), Shane Clanton (Pennsylvania), Dan Schlieper (Wisconsin), Steve Francis (Kentucky), Clint Smith (Georgia), Rick Eckert (Pennsylvania), and John Blankenship (West Virginia) plus the current WoO Rookie of the Year point’s leader, Josh Richards from West Virginia.

As an added bonus the event will also serve a sanctioned event for the Stacker 2 Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) Super Late Models. The WoO and M.A.R.S. will be going head to head to prove, who will be the King of the Ring. Some of the Stacker 2 M.A.R.S. drivers, who are expected include current point’s leader, Wendell Wallace ( Arkansas), Terry Phillips ( Missouri), Jack Sullivan ( Arkansas), Justin Wells ( Missouri), Jeff Floyd ( Arkansas), Gary Stolba ( Missouri), Steve Rushin ( Missouri), Jordan Jones ( Arkansas), Garrett Durrett ( Louisiana), Brandon McCormick ( Missouri), Bill Frye ( Arkansas), Dewaine Hottinger ( Arkansas), and Dane Dacus ( Tennessee).

With the best national and regional drivers rolling into town, the hometown drivers will prepare to stand strong and keep the $10,000 payday in the River City. Current point’s leader Johnny Lancaster will lead the revolt against the travelers. Other local drivers, who are expected to possibly be in attendance, include 2004 Track Champion, Jamie Dacus, Dean Carpenter, Barry Burch, Jessie Bailey, Robert Lovette, Jamie Elam, Jimmy Holland, Tim Crawley, Brian Hudson, Stephen Knight, and more. Special event points will be in effect with all drivers starting a heat race receiving a flat 100 points.

The 50 lap feature event will pay $10,000 to the winner and $700 just to start for the 24 car starting grid. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $110 with all drivers, who start a consolation race, receiving $110. Stacker 2 World of Outlaws rules will apply for this event.

Speed Channel cameras will also be present, taping the event for a future airing on the cable channel.

As an added bonus their will be a special race that will feature seven Nascar Craftsman Truck Drivers in a match race. The drivers will pilot Open Wheel Modifieds provided by some of the local teams. Bobby Hamilton, David Reutimann, David Starr, Johnny Benson, Tracy Hines, Timothy Peters, and Deborah Renshaw will all compete in the event as they prepare for the first ever running of the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series under the lights at Memphis Motorsports Park ¾ mile, paved oval on Saturday, July 23 rd.

The Open Wheel Modifieds along with the Bugg’s Buggys 600cc Mini Sprints will also be in action on the program.

Grandstand tickets for adults are $25 the day of the show or $20 in advance. Grandstand tickets for children 11 and under are $15 the day of the show or $10 in advance. Ages 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for ages 12 and up and $20 for children 6-11. Ages 5 and under are free. Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Memphis Motorsports Ticket Office by calling 901-358-RACE.

Please note that due to the large number of advanced, grandstand tickets that have been sold, only people, who buy grandstand tickets will be allowed in the grandstand area. People, who buy pit passes will only be allowed to use the grandstands that have been placed in the pit area in turn three. Grandstand tickets are only good for the grandstand area, and pit passes are only good for the pit area.
